Account
How do I sign in?
You can sign in with Apple, with Google, or with an email address and password. Whichever you choose, use the same method each time so your collection stays in one account.
I forgot my password.
On the sign-in screen, choose Email, then tap "Forgot password." We'll send a reset link to the address on your account.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to your profile, tap the gear for Settings, and choose "Delete account." This permanently removes your account, your collection, your wantlist, and any posts. It can't be undone, so export your collection first if you want a copy.
Vault Pro
What's included in Vault Pro?
Unlimited records and wantlist items, barcode scanning, live eBay pricing, recommendations based on your collection, the record player troubleshooter, CSV and insurance export, and posting to the community. The free app includes 50 records and 25 wantlist items.
How much does it cost, and how is it billed?
Vault Pro is $4.99 per month, billed through your Apple ID. It renews automatically each month until you cancel.
How do I cancel?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then VinylVault, then Cancel. You keep Vault Pro until the end of the period you've already paid for.
I subscribed but the app still shows the free plan.
In the app, open your profile, then Settings, then "Restore purchases." Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple ID you used to subscribe. If it still doesn't work, email us with your account email and we'll sort it out.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and choose the VinylVault charge.
Adding records
How does barcode scanning work?
Open the Scan tab and point the camera at the barcode on the back of the sleeve. VinylVault looks up the release on Discogs and adds it with the matching pressing details. Scanning requires Vault Pro; on the free plan you can add records by searching.
The scan found the wrong pressing.
Many barcodes are shared across several pressings. Open the record, tap the pressing, and pick the correct one from the list of Discogs releases. Your catalog number and country update to match.
My record isn't on Discogs.
Search by artist and title first; the listing may be under a slightly different name. If it's really missing, you can add the record manually with your own details.
Prices and value
Where do the prices come from?
Live prices are current eBay listings for the same release, shown as a range. They're asking prices, not sold prices, so treat them as a guide. Your collection's total is the sum of the midpoints.
Why is a price missing?
Some releases have no current eBay listings, especially rare or regional pressings. We show the Discogs marketplace link so you can check there.
Does VinylVault sell records?
No. The Buy tab shows listings on eBay and Discogs for records on your wantlist and links you there to buy. Some eBay links are affiliate links, which doesn't change the price you pay.
Your data
How do I export my collection?
With Vault Pro, open your profile, then Settings, then Export. You can download a CSV of every record with its details and value, or an insurance summary.
Where is my data stored, and who can see it?
Your collection is stored securely in our database and is private to your account unless you choose to post something to the community. We don't sell your data. Details are in our privacy policy.
